2013 NBA Champions

With this being my last post, I would like to make prediction on the 2013 NBA Champions. I the Miami Heat are going to win the NBA championship, with Lebron James being MVP of the series.

The Heat are going to win it in 6 games with the final score of game six being 94-86. I know this may seem like a crazy thing to do, but with the way the season has been I feel no one can stop the Heat this year. James, Wade, and Bosh are always threats and with Ray Allen and Chalmers the Heat are just too much for anyone.

The Grizzlies beating the Thunder really is a turning point because I thought the only team to maybe beat the Heat was the Thunder but since last night the team to win it all is You’re Miami Heat.

As Long As I Got My Suit And Tie

Derrick Rose wore his typical get-up for the year last night as the Chicago Bulls played the Miami Heat. Rose was declared as inactive for game 5 as the heat lead the series 4-1. That night the bulls lost a close one to the defending NBA Champions only losing 94-91. The Heat move on hoping to bring home another title while the Bulls hope to get their star point guard back.

Rose’s Torn ACL is defiantly no easy injury as his estimated recovery time was 8-12 months. Last sunday was the mark for the one year anniversary of the injury leading fans to the idea that Rose will be back soon. But last night, as the Bulls were defeated, fans are gonna have to wait till next year.

Joakim Noah of the Bulls said this about Rose,

“It was hard. You definitely as a player you want him to come back, but at the same time, you understand that you’ve got to look at the big picture,” Noah also said. “I’m really proud of him, actually, because he’s dealt with it great with all the pressure coming from a lot of people. I think that the way he handled it was great. I don’t think a lot of people could have handled it like that.”

As for Bulls fans and myself its time to put away the jerseys and hope that next year Rose will bring home an NBA Title.

Memphis Who?

Last night the last thing we thought would happen did. The Oklahoma City Thunder lost the series to the Memphis Grizzlies. Completely shocked I turned off my television and went to bed still appalled by the lost.

The so-called “Best of the West” lost to a team filled with underdogs. Everyone thought this year would end in a finals rematch of the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder, but everyone was wrong!!

The Thunder walked out on the court without their #2 superstar Russell Westbrook and sadly faced defeat, losing 88-84. The Thunder were outscored by 17 points in the second half and that seemed to be the deciding factor. Also Zach Randolph had 28 points and 14 rebounds, Mike Conley  added 13 points and 11 assists.

So what’s next for the Thunder? Looks like they will hang up thier shoes and take off their jerseys till next season and pray that Westbrook will come back next season healthy.

Da Bulls

DRose-TheReturn

“Im not coming back until I’m 110%”. Those were the words of Chicago Bulls superstar point guard, Derrick Rose. To some the return of Rose might be the answer to the quest for championship number seven in the Bulls franchise. The Bulls sit in second place in the central one and a half games behind the Pacers, who are a surprising 32 and 21 this year. The Bulls lineup has also taken another blow to the point guard position as Kirk Hinrich is out with a injured elbow and isn’t suppose to return until the conclusion of the All-Star break. This injury has put even more pressure on Rose’s recovery and when he might return. Rose stated in a interview this week, “I don’t have a set date, I’m not coming back until I’m 110%. Who knows when that can be? It can be within a couple of weeks. It could be next year. It could be any day. It could be any time. It’s just that I’m not coming back until I’m ready.”
I feel Rose is being very smart about the injury recovery time because of the severity of it. The fact that this could have ended his basketball career is a scary feat to overcome. I think many people who accuse Rose of overreacting about the injury and using it as a publicity stunt, are crazy and selfish. You will always have the critics who try to bring you down and I just hope Rose uses them as motivation to become 110%. Since the first day Rose was cleared for training, he has been in the gym and showing his commitment to the Bulls organization and will not be back until he can play at his best. As a Bulls fan since birth I want Rose to know that no matter how long it takes, I will wait.
